Adjunct Faculty

A Special Note About Our Adjunct Faculty:  One of the most powerful benefits of our program is that we are able to bring to the student the teaching and academic oversight of highly accomplished practitioners and scholars in various fields of study.  They serve as administrators, faculty, ministers, practitioners, authors, writers, and in other areas of service and leadership either in private ministry or with other institutions.

Their contribution to MIUD is an important part of their commitment to Christian ministry.  Yet, because they are also involved in the larger field of Christian service, the student who studies under their direction receives the added benefit of learning from a highly accomplished and multi-dimensional leader.  This wonderful benefit would not be possible in a traditional system of higher education.

You will notice that in addition to their other ministry and academic credentials many of our adjunct members are also graduates of Master’s.  In some academic circles this may be questioned as being too insular, and that may be true for some colleges and universities.

However, in our case we view this as a distinct advantage.  Since our faculty come to us with an already impressive ministry background, their studies at Master’s are a reflection of an intense desire to be challenged in their knowledge of Biblical disciplines.

Since this is also true of most of our students, we believe the background mixture of our faculty facilitates both an understanding of, and empathy for our students, who are typically older and already experienced in Christian ministry.  This is ministry education for ministers by ministers!
