Tuition, Discounts & Enrollment Formula

-Effective May 1, 2017-

All programs (certificates and degrees), are factored the same.

Tuition

Bachelor's level certificate or programs per credit $85
Master's level certificate or programs per credit $105
Doctorate level programs per credit $125

Program enrollment fee

$250

Tuition Discounts

-Effective August 1, 2016-

  • MIUD Alumni - 10%.
  • Regular Learning Partners - 10%.
  • Special Learning Partners - BFP & YaYa = 15%.
  • Spouse Tuition Benefit - 50%.
  • Discount Combinations - with the exception of the Spouse Tuition Benefit, students may not combine discounts.  The Spouse Benefit of 50% can be applied only to full tuition.  The other spouse may qualify for any of the other discounts.

Enrollment Formula - To Begin A New Program

-Effective May 1, 2017-

  • The student pays the $250 enrollment fee. - This fee is the same for all programs (certificate or degree).  This is the total cost to activate an enrollment.  The program activation fee is nonrefundable, but it is deducted from (that is, credited to) the total tuition at the time of enrollment.

  • Standard enrollment, and payment plan - Payments are calculated by dividing total tuition (after applying an approved discount) by 60. The payment is rounded up to the nearest dollar.  However, the student is given the option of paying a somewhat smaller or larger monthly payment if they prefer.*  Here is the formula:

  • Example - M.A. in Biblical counseling - 42 credits
    42 x $105 = $4,410
10% Learning Partner discount (if approved)
    Total tuition = $3,969
    Monthly payment = ($3,969 -  $250 enrollment fee divided by 60 months) $61.98

  • The first monthly payment is due the 21st of the month following initial enrollment.

*Somewhat smaller amount:  The amount may be up to 25% less, but not more, and the student must understand that it will result in a longer payoff.

*Somewhat larger amount:  The amount may be up to 25% more, but the student student must understand that if they withdraw, there will still be no refund.

The student makes monthly payments until the tuition is paid in full. Students my elect to pay more, or to make extra payments.  No interest is charged on the unpaid balance.  No refunds are given if the student withdraws while having voluntarily paid in advance.

If the student completes the program before the tuition is paid in full, the student may elect to keep making monthly payments until the balance is paid in full.  In which case, the certificate or degree is awarded upon final payment.  The student may also pay the final balance and receive the certificate or degree.

  • Non-standard degree enrollment, and payment plan - Students who do not wish to enroll for a full degre program may enroll for a minimum of four courses in any of the degree programs (excepting the Doctor of Divinity in which students must enroll for the full program).  One course must be the Orientation, and the other three determined at the time of enrollment (total 14 credits).

In the event of a non-standard degree enrollment, the student pays the same $250 Enrollment Fee.  Monthly payments are factored the same as with a standard enrollment except the payment period is divided into shorter periods.  These are:

    14 credits = 24 months
    16 - 24 credits = 36 months
    26 or more credits = 60 months

  • Early payoff policy -  after the student has been in a program for at least one year (12 months), and has successfully completed the Orientation course and at least two other program couses, he or she may elect to pay the balance of tuition, and receive a 10% early payoff discount.  However, the student must also agree that in the event of withdrawal, no tuition refund will apply.

  • Withdrawal policy - A student may elect to withdraw from the program, and cease making payments.  The student's account becomes inactive.  Students may reactivate their program by paying the standard program change fee.

  • Refund policy - There are no refunds.

SENDING TEXT MESSAGES TO A CELL PHONE FROM YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT

You can send a text message to a USA or Canadian cell phone from your @mdivs.edu email address.  The phone carriers that permit this are AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile,  and Verizon (other smaller or local carriers may also, but we are concerning ourselves with the larger carriers only).

To so so you need only to place the person's ten (10) digit phone number before the @ sign of the selected carrier.  Here are the carrier @ suffixes:

AT&T    @txt.att.net
Sprint    @messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile    @tmomail.net
Verizon    @vtext.com

For example, you can send a text message to an AT&T customer like this (NO "1" first just the area code, then the 7 other numbers with no spaces):  8124710611@text.att.net

You must know the recipients phone carrier, and they must be a cell phone user.  Everything in your email (including such things as the CONFIDENTIALLY NOTICE below) will be sent, so you may wish to limit the information you send as is good practice when sending text messages.
